Real thought and attention to detail goes into everything we do at The Trough. From its initial inception as a Horse Box Bar with a catering option, The Trough New Forest has grown & grown to what we offer today – proud moment.
The Horse Box has now retired to greener pastures, it was joyous having it as part of the business. I am lucky to have some amazing people joining me to make up the fabulous Team Trough. We love what we do, it shows, and hope you will too.

The equine bit!
The original and never to be equalled William! 16h of piebald cob perfection. He had the best life right to the end. Forever grateful for his friendship.
Then out of left field (well Bashley to be exact) Stella arrived at the right time. She is a delight, with the kindest eye. A true Labrador of a horse - food & love! She features more on the insta than me x
The Evolution of The Trough New Forest
It was located on a smallholding in Parley, adjacent to Bournemouth Airport. The small holding looking like a bygone throwback with its surroundings all consumed by the runways. Under a lean-to was the Horse Box, Brown apparently in colour, with straw and hessian matting inside - perfection!
When I set to work painting the horse box, an application of sugar soap revealed the brown was actually years of ingrained dirt, and was in fact green!
Amazing what a touch of elbow grease can achieve
Always championing local quality ingredients and produce where possible. Proud to be based in the unique New Forest, and rarely making it outside of the cattle grids. Each Client and event is as important to us, as the next.
The level of returning Clients, both private & corporate is just the best. Love to hear your event ideas, and delighted when we can add to the fun.
